Why is it necessary to apply a sealing primer in the construction of floor paint? What role does it play? How should it be applied to achieve the best effect? This article will explain it clearly!
The role of the floor sealing primer can be succinctly stated as: isolating dust and moisture from the base and providing a certain level of base reinforcement.
After drying, the sealing primer is extremely sticky. You can think of it as a kind of "glue." When it is not dry, it has a very strong fluidity like water. As time goes on, generally within 3-6 hours, the sealing primer begins to gel and harden, eventually becoming incredibly hard.
Now that we understand the role of the sealing primer, let's share the correct method of application:
The floor sealing primer must be applied using a scraping method:
First, pour a suitable amount of sealing primer onto the prepared base.
Hold the scraper at a 90-degree angle to the base surface and evenly scrape the sealing primer over every part of the base.
Only a thin layer of sealing primer needs to be scraped on, and accumulation must be avoided.
Why can only scraping be used and not rolling?
Scraping allows the sealing primer to be fluid, enabling it to fully penetrate into the pores of the base surface, effectively sealing the pores. Rolling, on the other hand, cannot achieve this effect, as it only applies a thin layer and does not allow the base to fully absorb it.
