Step-by-Step Guide to DIY a Glow-in-the-Dark Helmet

Feb 26, 2024

Today, I got fined 50 yuan! There goes a day's salary!

Why the fine? Because today, I bought my beloved "little motorbike," just like the song goes: "Riding on my beloved 'little motorbike,' it will never get stuck in traffic. Come on, come on, hit the road with me!" Hahaha, I was so happy!

But then, I got summoned by a police officer, boo-hoo! I received my first-ever fine in life!

With determination and grit, I made a significant decision-I bought a helmet!

But somehow, this helmet felt too ordinary, as if it sealed away my charm. But what do I do? I work with coatings, you can seal my charm, but not my talent!

That's when I had a brilliant idea, to DIY a unique glow-in-the-dark helmet, which could protect me and make me the brightest guy at night!

Let's do it! Join me in creating such a glow-in-the-dark helmet that not only ensures my safety but also boosts my charm to the max.

First off, I need to decide on the color of the paint! There are many colors of glow-in-the-dark paint-red, yellow, green, blue, and so on.

The choice of color is crucial. Red might be liked by girls, but for a true man of 180 cm, it seems a bit feminine, not suitable!

Yellow looks pretty, but it feels a bit too flashy, hence the saying, pass!

Green, well. There's a saying, to live well, you need some green on your head! Nonsense, that's for others, not for me!

Blue it is, then. Blue is good, noble, pure, as clear as the sky, as profound as the ocean! Isn't that just like me? I am such a clear and profound big boy! That's the one, take out the sky-blue glow-in-the-dark spray paint!

Wrap the helmet's two little ears (the parts where the safety strap connects) with masking tape to prevent paint from getting on them! All wrapped up!

Now, shake the spray paint vigorously. Once well shaken, it's time to paint. When spraying, don't be too far away or too close, about half a meter is best! Spray evenly across every corner of the helmet! Painting done!

Now, there's only one thing left to do, wait quietly for it to dry. Place the helmet in a well-ventilated area to dry naturally. To ensure the glow-in-the-dark paint dries evenly, it's best to wait for more than 6 hours.

It's completely dry now, let's see how bright it is at night! My helmet now emits a blue glow, sure to make me stand out while riding at night. Of course, if you feel the brightness isn't enough, you can reapply the glow-in-the-dark paint after it's dry to enhance the effect.

Through this simple DIY project, I now have a unique glow-in-the-dark helmet that not only increases my safety at night but also showcases my personality and style. Remember, safety always comes first, and a helmet with character not only protects us but also displays our individuality and style. Go ahead and give it a try, let's become the most unique and safest riders on the night roads!
